Welcome back to Parsons Farm Market!
After a long, damp winter, we are gearing up for an incredible summer in the Similkameen. It’s always our favourite time of year – the endless sunshine & starry, clear nights, the bounty of fruits & vegetables from our orchard and farm, and when we have a moment, the relief from the heat with a swim in the river. Come out to the farm and sample some of the ‘good life’ with us!
We have the doors up and are welcoming visitors already, with the full Farm Market open for business this weekend, just in time for Canada Day on July 1. The first long weekend of the summer – what a perfect time to visit Keremeos and the Similkameen Valley.
While last year’s season came on quite early, this year has swung in the opposite direction and the season is a little later. Right now we are just starting to pick the Bing cherries, and we will have plenty on offer for early market shoppers. We are picking garlic scapes, cauliflower, snap and snow peas, cabbage from our back field this week. We’ve also received the Walla Walla sweet onions from our neighbours to the south. The ideal burger onion! Plenty more coming on as the days of summer carry on.
